Okeylah, harini saya nak bersedekah - contoh email kepada bakal supervisor kita yang akan supervise kita sepanjang kita bergelar Ph.D student. Maybe ada sesetengah orang, pendapat lain, yang itu pendapat lain, so terpulanglah pada kretiviti masing-masing ya?.

Sebelum kita meneruskan pembelajaran ke peringkat Ph.D ni, kita kena banyak study pasal bidang yang bakal kita research tu nanti, so in a way to get the best 'problem statement', we have to get the 'best supervisor' yang suit dengan research kita tu. Perkara tentang macam mana nak futher Ph.D, saya dah bincang dalam entry sini, so sila jangan malas nak semak-semak ya?.

So, entry ni bersambung dengan entry yang atas tu tentang proses nak sambung Ph.D tapi kali ni saya nak share contoh email kepada bakal supervisor - ayat kena tersusun dan menarik untuk dibaca, so takdelah 'bakal supervisor' kita tu akan 'SPAM' email kita ya kawan-kawan, adik-adik!. Email ni juga telah dicheck dan disemak oleh lecturer saya di UTM dan kawan baik saya yang 'terror' dalam bab language ni - siap ada consultation untuk spelling checker okey!.

Tapi, you all kenalah ubah-ubah sikit ayatnya ya - janganlah copy bulat-bulat ya!. Kena jujur pada diri sendiri - ubah ayat dan silalah mintak orang tolong checkkan untuk kita, jangan malas!. Ingat, email ni adalah first impression orang pada kita.

Tajuk Email: Looking for a place to further my studies at Ph.D level 

Dear Professor Dr ,

I am ________, from Malaysia and currently living in Tokyo, Japan for doing a Double Master Degree Program. Right now, i already completed my 1st Master Degree (Master of Science - Engineering Business Management from University Technology Malaysia) and will finish my 2nd Master in Business Administration (MBA from Meiji University) this coming March 2014. I am currently looking for a place to further my studies at PhD level with regards to Sustainable Supply Chain/Re-Manufacturing Management/Logistic and Operation Management. I am interested to explore more on Supply Chain Management, preferably utilizing the re-manufacturing concept. 

My previous MBA thesis is about supply chain performance and financial success, a study for companies listed in Bursa Malaysia while MEBM thesis study about effective approach to food safety management system certification. Both my thesis is a collaborative research for supply chain management concept.

The reason for this email is to find out if there is any opportunity for me to pursue my PhD at this prestigious university. In my opinion, it would be great if I can have my PhD research project attach with research member under your supervision.
